Swim Lesson Instructor

Position Summary:

The Defiance Area YMCA is hiring Swim Instructors to provide safe, high-quality swim lessons in a fun and supportive environment. Instructors help children build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the water. Responsibilities Arrive 15 minutes before lessons; start and end classes on time Follow lesson plans and incorporate fun, engaging activities Ensure safety and enforce all pool rules Take attendance and complete progress reports for each participant Communicate positively with children and parents Maintain clean, organized equipment and storage areas Attend all scheduled lessons and secure substitutes if needed Promote YMCA values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility Requirements Lifeguarding or YMCA Aquatics Safety Assistant (YASA) certification CPR/AED & First Aid certifications Willingness to obtain YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certifications Strong communication skills and reliability Ability to work with children in a positive, encouraging manner Schedule Part-time hours Must be reliable and consistent for scheduled lesson sessions Why Join Us?
