  • 6th) , Horizons (rising 7th
  • 8th) , and Project Crossroads (rising 9th
  • 12th) .
Instructors lead engaging, inquirybased learning experiences designed to introduce students to academic disciplines through handson activities, discussions, and collaborative projects. Courses may cover a wide range of subject areas including STEM, humanities, social sciences, arts, and interdisciplinary fields. Summer programs are held on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus and typically run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM .
Responsibilities :
Deliver engaging, ageappropriate instruction for a week long academic course. Develop a course outline including learning objectives, activities, and instructional materials. Facilitate handson, inquiry based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and critical thinking. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students. Work collaboratively with program staff and counselors to support student engagement and success. Participate in required instructor orientation prior to the start of camp. Perform other duties as assigned to support the instructional program.
Job Requirements Required Education :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Experience :
Demonstrated experience working with youth or students.
Skills :
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with program staff and follow program guidelines.
Advertised Physical Requirements :
Ability to speak clearly, ability to hear Ability to engage in recreational activities, ability to grasp objects, and assist student in minor physical activity.
Department Preferences :
Teaching certificate or classroom teaching experience. Experience teaching grades K 12 or working with youth summer camps. Graduate students or professionals with expertise in an academic field. Experience designing handson or project based learning activities.
Additional Information :
Background check required prior to employment. Participation in instructor training is required prior to the start of camp. Programs are held on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus.
