Job Overview Dance Instructor & Studio Assistant Part-Time | Ballet & Creative Movement | Saturdays + 1 Weekday with more opportunities available
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and engaging Dance Instructor to join our studio team. This role includes teaching ballet, creative movement (ages 2-6) , and other forms while also supporting light administrative tasks and assisting with social media marketing. Teaching Responsibilities Teach age-appropriate ballet classes for ages 3-16 Lead creative movement classes for ages 2-6 with energy and imagination Create structured, engaging lesson plans aligned with studio curriculum Maintain a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment Manage classroom behavior with patience and professionalism Prepare students for performances, showcases, and recital routines Communicate with parents as needed in a warm and professional manner Administrative & Studio Support Assist with basic studio operations (attendance, organization, light cleaning between classes) Support front desk communication as needed (greeting families, answering basic questions) Help with recital preparation, events, and studio activities Foster relationships with students and parents to encourage ongoing participation in dance programs. Social Media & Marketing Support Capture and share appropriate class content (photos/videos) Assist in posting on studio social media platforms Help promote classes, events, and studio culture online Contribute ideas for engaging and positive studio content.

Availability for at least one weekday (afternoon/evening) Additional hours may be available for administrative or seasonal needs (parties, camps, events) Qualifications Dance training in ballet (required) Experience teaching children (ages 2-16 preferred) Strong classroom management skills Positive, reliable, and professional demeanor Comfortable working with young children and beginner dancers Basic understanding of social media platforms (Instagram/Facebook preferred) Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualities Enthusiastic and nurturing teaching style Organized and self-motivated Creative with lesson planning and class engagement Passion for helping dancers build confidence and joy through movement Requirements Proven experience in teaching dance, with a strong emphasis on ballet. Background in curriculum development and lesson planning. Experience working with children, including early childhood education or preschool experience. Strong classroom management skills and behavior management techniques. Ability to engage students through creative teaching methods. Knowledge of childhood development principles is preferred. Additional skills such as photography, cooking, sewing, or theater experience are considered an asset. A passion for dance and the ability to inspire students of all ages.
