Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and passionate Tap Dance Teacher to inspire students at a beginning level (tap one, tap one INT and teen/tween classes) through the art of tap dancing. In this role, you will design engaging dance lessons that foster creativity, rhythm, and confidence. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop their technical skills while having fun in a supportive environment. Whether working with children or teens, you will create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and self-expression. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to share your love of dance and make a meaningful impact in our vibrant community. Training with our full-time tap teacher for the first 6-weeks of the fall/spring season. Must have experience. Duties Use our comprehensive tap dance curricula tailored to different skill levels and age groups, incorporating techniques from beginner to intermediate stages Lead dynamic group classes that emphasize proper technique, rhythm, and musicality Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and motivating learning environment Plan engaging lesson plans that incorporate elements of theater, movement, and musicality to enhance students' overall dance experience Utilize photography skills to document student progress and showcase performances for promotional purposes Provide constructive feedback and personalized coaching to help students achieve their dance goals while fostering confidence and enjoyment Qualifications Proven experience in teaching tap dance with a strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms effectively across diverse age groups, including children, preschoolers, and adults Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, and behavior management strategies Background in related fields such as ballet, theater, or early childhood education is highly desirable Skills in photography or multimedia documentation are a plus for capturing student achievements and class activities - not required, but appreciated Experience working with children or in preschool settings is preferred to create engaging learning experiences for young learners Strong communication skills combined with patience and enthusiasm for working with students of all backgrounds Join our team and bring joy, rhythm, and confidence into the lives of your students!
