Posting Details Position Summary Information Posting Number P2307 Job Title Adjunct/Concurrent Faculty - Dance, Ballet Emphasis Students Only No Job Description Summary Western Wyoming Community College is seeking a highly qualified individual to teach beginning dance courses in ballet, but may also include other dance and movement styles. Instructor will follow a syllabus that contains course objectives and learning outcomes and will reach those objectives and outcomes through teaching the dance methodologies with which the applicant is most familiar (Vaganova, Cecchetti, RAD , French school, Horton, Limon, Graham, Cunningham, or eclectic approaches). The instructor will design and conduct assessments of technique and artistry throughout the semester and assign dance appreciation assignments. Instructor may be required to work with piano accompanist or pre-recorded music for dance classes. Additional duties will be dependent upon qualifications and interests of the applicant and the needs of the school. It is expected that this individual will accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective, competent manner and strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, this individual must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with college personnel and the public. This individual will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May teach up to 9 credit hours per semester.
- Provides quality learning experiences for all students in accordance with their needs and abilities while maintaining the basic integrity of the course's standards and objectives.
- Understands and leads students toward the clear objectives and criteria provided in each course syllabus; evaluates students' performance in light of these objectives and criteria.
- Teaches courses in a variety of environments and modes as required.
- Designs and implements effective learning processes for students; provides feedback on student improvement in attaining the College's Learning Goals.
- Learns to communicate clearly and effectively using the college network system, including the e-mail and calendar system, MyWestern, Canvas, and word processing; integrates learning with technology into the classroom as appropriate.
- Refers students to the resources in the College Learning Center; Peer Tutor Center; NetTutor; Library; Advising, Career, Employment, Internships, Transfer Center, and Wellness and Accessibility Center.
- Maintains an inventory of all assigned equipment and supplies in assigned areas; takes prudent efforts to safeguard WWCC physical resources from unauthorized use. Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
- Submits syllabi, student evaluations, grades, and other required information in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities)- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Dance, Musical Theatre, Fine Arts, or a Related Field
- Two to ten years of documented experience teaching dance courses at the K-12 or college level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, technologies, principles and practices of Dance.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and administrators.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in all facets of the student-teacher relationship and to teach a diverse group of community college students.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience)- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Dance or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate level credit hours in Dance.
- Documented experience teaching dance at the college level.
- Documented experience performing at the professional level.
