NCOE partners with the five public school districts in Napa County on a variety of programs and issues. NCOE also operates numerous federal and state grants including a robust AmeriCorps program and state-wide projects supporting Special Education students. To learn more about working at NCOE, please visit: https://napacoe.org/careers/ Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, the Director of Academic Support provides strategic leadership for NCOE's Academic Support Team and oversees instructional improvement, professional learning, coaching systems, and continuous improvement initiatives across Napa County school districts. The Director also serves as the statewide project lead for California's Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant, priority 3 (improving literacy outcomes for secondary students). This role involves coordinating intersecting activities for the successful implementation of CLSD priorities. The director oversees the development of dynamic materials and content, manages multi-year federal and state funding, ensures compliance and accurate reporting for complex budgets, and represents NCOE in statewide partnerships with CDE, county offices, higher education institutions, and evaluation partners. The position also supervises program managers, coordinators, project leads, and coaches; leads multi-county instructional teams; and supports districts and COEs in aligning curriculum, instruction, assessment, and improvement systems. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in education or a job-related field required.
  • Doctor of Education (Ed.
D.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) strongly preferred
  • A Clear California Administrative Services Credential is required
  • A Clear California Teaching Credential is required
  • Ten or more years of certificated public-school service with progressively responsible leadership in curriculum, instruction, and program administration.
  • Three to five years in a certificated administrative or management position.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating instructional improvement systems
  • Experience supervising multi-site programs and managing complex, multi-year budgets across multiple funding sources.
