JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
1. Master's degree in education, administration, curriculum, and instruction or related areas
Experience:
1. Five years of experience in teaching and/or school administration preferred 2. Three years of school administration experience preferred
Certificates/Licenses:
1. Must hold a Colorado Principal License or a Colorado Administrator License 2. Must hold a valid Colorado driver's license

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Assists in the development of the District Unified Plan 2. Plans, implements, and monitors best practices and strategies for K-12 instruction 3. Designs staff development opportunities that directly support best practices in the area of K-12 instruction and strategies 4. Ensures the implementation and monitors the fidelity of strategies identified through the state accreditation and unified improvement plan process by utilizing the Teaching and Learning Cycle 5. Assists with the implementation of effective processes of support and evaluation in accordance with professional practice and student academic growth standards 6. Routinely visits secondary school sites and works with building leadership and instructional staff to evaluate student achievement data and makes suggestions for next steps moving forward 7. Supports and assists with the development of building unified plans that reflect the unique needs of each school community while ensuring fidelity to the District's goals 8. Supports the accreditation process through collaboration and on-site visits 9. Remains current in research, best practice, and data-driven instruction, and participates in appropriate local, state, and national trainings 10. Supports and monitors staff development needs through collaboration with central administrators 11. Provides support and resources for all District administrators 12. Promotes effective communication and teamwork between buildings and administrators as well as between central administrators by co-facilitating meetings for secondary principals and assistant principals 13. Assists in the supervision of the secondary education program, including principals, secondary principal meetings, staffing, curriculum and instruction, building visitations, field trips, requisitions, and parent problem-solving 14. Assists in the oversight of all instructional programs in the District, including methods, curriculum, school programs, and activities, and recommends changes and improvements as needed 15. Coordinates the sharing and dissemination of all pertinent information and data related to director meetings, task forces, and committees for which they facilitate 16. Maintains and assists in the evaluation of secondary instructional methods, curriculum, and school programs, and recommends such changes and improvements as needed 17. Assists as a liaison for building administrators and other central administrators in resolving student, parent, or patron complaints with the District 18. Assists in screening, interviewing, and recommending qualified candidates for administrative positions as assigned 19. Serves as a member of the District Instructional Team and District Guiding Coalition 20. Assists with the facilitation of meetings with the Lead Counselors 21. Assists with the Expelled Student Services program and works with the Executive Director of Secondary Student Learning, school administration, students, and parents on educational services for students expelled from the District 22. Supports the Gifted and Talented Education program at the secondary level 23. Supports the development and implementation of READ plans at the secondary level 24. Facilitates and oversees the District's ELL program in accordance with state and federal regulations 25. Facilitates and oversees AYPYN (Army Youth Programs in Your Neighborhood) in secondary schools 26. Facilitates and oversees Behavior Coaches in junior high schools 27. Oversees the PEAK Education Mentorship Program 28. Oversees Before and After School Care programs in district elementary schools 29. Oversees Positive Action Team initiatives and activities 30. Oversees the district Credit Recovery Program 31. Support central administrators during crisis situations 32. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues in a professional manner 33. Models an effective understanding and respect for diversity and inclusion 34. Incorporates legal rights and due process for children with special needs 35. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards change 36. Performs such other duties as may be assigned and directed by the superintendent
