PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, the Coordinator for Teaching and Learning shall be responsible for facilitating and communicating the development and implementation of the district's curriculum and instructional objectives and the professional development that supports curriculum and instruction for all instructional programs in North Shore District 112.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Coordinator for Teaching and Learning will be responsible for the following: Recruitment Assists with the recruitment and selection of staff for instructional programs Curriculum Development Assists with the ongoing review of the district curriculum and instructional resources Gathers input and feedback from staff and administrators on matters related to curriculum, assessment, implementation of core resources, and department initiatives Possesses strong pedagogical knowledge of mathematical practices and a track record of coaching educators Professional Development Assists with the planning of staff development that aligns with the district's curriculum and instructional objectives Assessment Assists with the development of the district's assessment plan Assists in the analysis of data Drive the implementation of online curriculum and assessment resources Manage and oversee the logistics, administration, and data analysis of state and local assessments, ensuring compliance with all testing protocols Articulation and Outreach Serves as a liaison to all district departments and building leadership Communicates with other school districts (including District 113) regarding District 112's curriculum and instructional objectives in order to ensure instructional program alignment Communicates with parents and other community members regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment Maintains relationships with community organizations Assists with parent outreach and advocacy Leadership, Supervision, and Evaluation Regularly visits schools and supports staff Directs supervision and evaluation of instructional programs Supports district and school improvement planning Works with administrators to facilitate the integration of effective instructional practices into all classrooms Attends to all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Principal or General Administrative endorsement Successful teaching and/or certified experience in an educational setting
Physical & Work Requirements:
Ability to move throughout school buildings and grounds Ability to supervise students and respond to safety concerns Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds Regular computer use and written communication Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including evening meetings Availability to respond to urgent matters as needed
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on occasion, the noise level will be loud. Work is usually conducted indoors. This work could be conducted at any school location or off-campus at a school event.
