TITLE:
De-escalation and Physical Intervention Crisis Trainer
LOCATION

JOB SUMMARY
The De-escalation and Physical Intervention Crisis Trainer provides training and ongoing support to district staff on the implementation of physical intervention and de-escalation strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Obtain and maintain certification as a Trainer through a regional Training of Trainers workshop
Organize and implement initial trainings of staff as well as refreshers for staff already trained
Organize and implement periodic de-escalation trainings for building staff as requested by building principals
Meet periodically with student services administrators regarding implementation in the district
Collaborate with other district trainer(s) regarding implementation in the district
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Valid Illinois Educator's License as a teacher, counselor, or related service personnel - other licenses will be considered on a case by case basis
EXPERIENCE
3 years school-based experience working with students with challenging behaviors preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Highly organized
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Excellent problem-solver
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Additional Duty Pay or Board Credit to be determined in conjunction with the Executive Director for Student Services
EVALUATION
Salary and Benefit information can be found on the Human Resources webpage. This is a position within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
This is an exempt position.
Stipend is $2,800
Performance in this position shall be evaluated regularly and informally (oral and written) by the Director of Title I Services & Initiatives and the Building Principal in accordance with provisions of the negotiated agreement.
