Job Description

SUMMARY:
The STEM Instructional Coach will support all staff in the implementation of the district's vision and instructional programs. The Coach will work directly with teachers and administrators in providing classroom-based demonstrations and modeling, collaborative and one-on-one support, and through facilitating teacher inquiry and necessary professional development. The focus will be on enhancing teachers' ability to provide instruction and assessment that builds students' sense of engagement in the ownership of learning through effective integration of districts chosen programs. The Coach will also work with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide instructional focus and delivery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide teachers to collect and analyze data and develop action plans to determine specific learning gaps and recommend specific instructional focus objectives.
  • Provide individualized, classroom-based support to teachers to include modeling of best teaching practices informal observations with recommendations.
  • Actively participate in the school's assessment protocol, procedure, training, data collection and process for creating consistent discussions around data informed decision making.
  • Complete monthly status reports for Principal(s) and Director of Teaching and Learning
  • Active participation in the formation and facilitation of professional development opportunities with teachers, staff and families.
  • Collaborate with principal(s) and grade level teams to create goals for reading achievement.
  • Potential probability for providing direct, small group reading support, within RtI framework using programs chosen by the Director.
  • Perform other related duties and assigned by the Principal(s) or the Director of Teaching and Learning
