Job Description

About the Role The Program Director is the heartbeat of our student experience. You will own curriculum delivery, student progression, instructor performance, and enrollment retention across both Surrey locations. This is a leadership role for a martial arts professional who is passionate about youth development, team culture, and building programs that get results — on the floor and in the business metrics. Responsibilities Curriculum & Program Delivery Oversee daily class schedules Lead and co-teach classes across all age groups (Little Champions, Youth, Teen, Adult) Implement and evolve the Kick It curriculum including the ChampMind mindset belt curriculum Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of classes by all instructors Design and run special programs: summer camps, testing cycles, leadership programs Student Development & Retention Monitor student progress and ensure timely belt promotions and milestone recognition Build personal relationships with students and families to drive long-term retention Identify at-risk students and proactively engage families to prevent cancellations Lead or support parent orientation, intros, and first-class experiences Coordinate student awards, ceremonies, and recognition events Instructor Leadership Recruit, train, and mentor junior instructors and junior leaders Conduct weekly instructor briefings and ongoing coaching Develop instructor skill through observation, feedback, and structured development plans Hold instructors accountable to class standards, attendance, and conduct expectations Operations & KPIs Report weekly to ownership on class attendance, student milestones, and program metrics Collaborate with front desk and operations on enrollment, renewals, and upgrades Support trial student follow-up and contribute to enrollment conversion goals Maintain accurate records for student progress, testing eligibility, and attendance Requirements Black Belt in Taekwondo (1st Dan minimum; 3rd Dan or higher preferred) 3+ years of experience teaching martial arts in a school or club environment Demonstrated leadership experience managing instructors or junior staff Passion for youth development and a student-first coaching philosophy Strong communication skills with students, parents, and team members Ability to perform physically — demonstrate techniques and lead high-energy classes Preferred Experience with structured curriculum programs (SKILLZ, ChampMind, ATA, or similar) Background in youth sports, coaching, or education Familiarity with CRM tools, class management software (e.g. Kicksite, Zen Planner) Bilingual an asset (Punjabi, Tagalog, Mandarin)
Compensation Base Salary:
Competitive — based on experience and belt level
Performance Bonus:
Monthly bonus tied to retention, enrollment, and student milestones
