$150,000 ? $175,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Curriculum and Programs and working with all degree-granting programs at Columbia Business School (CBS), the Senior Executive Director of Curriculum Planning leads a team responsible for leveraging technology, including artificial intelligence, to collaboratively evolve the curricula, programs, and processes related to courses of study at CBS, including: design and delivery, offerings, scheduling, selection, registration, and evaluation. The Senior Executive Director is responsible and accountable for the strategic oversight, management, and implementation of the operational and administrative activities of the Office, with an overarching goal of collaboratively creating appropriate policies, procedures, and standards for all degree-granting programs. The Senior Executive Director also provides reporting, analysis, and interpretation of relevant institutional data regarding the curriculum and associated systems to strategically shape institutional discussions, trends, policies, processes, security, compliance, and strategic practices in support and advancement of the academic mission at CBS. This position ensures that processes, procedures, and systems are in place so that students, faculty, and staff have the information they need to navigate the academic complexities of the School and the University with respect to the curriculum of the School?s academic programs. Responsibilities Curriculum Strategy & Innovation Develops the strategy for new curricular offerings by researching and synthesizing best practices, creating procedures for new programs, and executing on strategic initiatives Plays a key collaborative, research-oriented role in informing, executing, and evaluating new curricular offerings Collaborates on and plays a key role in other curriculum strategy projects as needed Partners with faculty, program offices, and Samberg staff to design and build pre-MBA content Curriculum Governance & Operations Manages curriculum functions for the School, including improving and sustaining the successful functioning of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee (CIC), processing and evaluating new course applications, and engaging in data-driven curricular analyses Manages processes, policies, and procedures related to the role of adjunct instructors in elective offerings; collaborates with Samberg, HR, and senior leadership to ensure effective onboarding Collaborates with senior leadership and divisions to make recommendations in course planning meetings and ensures timely execution of decisions Data, Analytics & Decision Support Analyzes data relating to the outcomes of curricular initiatives and develops insights to inform strategy Oversees the development and implementation of AI-driven curricular analysis tools; analyzes and synthesizes curriculum data Engages in classroom visits and audits classes in the core curriculum and key electives to inform evaluation and improvements AI & Educational Technology Integration Collaborates with faculty and senior leadership to advance the integration of AI in the curriculum, including both AI-focused offerings and AI-enabled teaching and learning Tracks the integration of AI across the curriculum and partners with the Samberg Institute to inform strategic decisions on educational technology Cross-Functional Collaboration & Student Experience Collaborates with senior leadership and program offices to create processes for students to view, plan, and select courses of study Partners with the Office of Student Affairs to inform advising through curriculum insights and data Minimum Qualifications Masters degree and a minimum of 7-9 years of relevant experience required. PhD preferred. Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; proven collaborative decision maker with the ability to work well under pressure Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of complex information and computer systems, software applications, and data infrastructures Experience leading large-scale systems transformations to improve outcomes Demonstrated success in leading high-functioning teams Knowledge of federal regulations including FERPA, national trends, and current research and best practices in the field of registration Considerable change management and project management skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and analyze large amounts of data Knowledge of student information systems that interface with student data, with the ability to ensure data interfacing adheres to compliance requirements for the School and the University Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and oversee systems and process optimization Ability to work during evenings, weekends, and early morning hours as required Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Columbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.Similar jobs in New York, NY
