POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Online Education at LeMoyne-Owen College is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and management of all online educational offerings within the college. This role oversees the design, implementation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of online instruction to ensure alignment with LeMoyne-Owen College's mission, goals, and standards of excellence. The Executive Director collaborates with the Provost, Division Chairs, Faculty, and Information Technology teams to deliver innovative and effective online learning experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide vision and leadership for the growth and success of online instruction. Develop and execute strategic plans for online instruction, including new program development and market analysis. Ensure academic quality and regulatory compliance of all online courses and programs. Collaborate with academic divisions and areas to support curriculum development and faculty training for online instruction. Provide guidance on technology infrastructure and learning management systems required for online delivery. Monitor program performance, student outcomes, and satisfaction in online programs to identify areas for improvement. Manage budgets, resources, and partnerships related to online instruction and program operations. Represent online programs in institutional committees, accreditation processes, and external partnerships. Stay abreast of trends and best practices in online instruction and programs and recommend and implement innovations as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree (doctorate preferred) in a relevant field, such as education, instructional technology, or business administration. Significant leadership experience in online program administration. Proficiency in instructional design, learning technologies, and online pedagogy. Demonstrated track record in team leadership and project management. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements for online education.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to handle, or feel to talk and to hear. The employee, frequently, is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
