Job Description

Hawkins County Schools Instructional Coach Reports To:
Elementary and Middle/High School Supervisors Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Five Years of teaching experience Proficiency with Curriculum Software Communicates well both orally and in writing Experience in research-based instructional practices
Purpose Statement:
The Instructional Coaches will assist Central Office staff and school administrators in providing researched based, best instructional practices to teachers in Hawkins County Schools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance Support new teachers Provide staff development Be available to school administrators to analyze data Be proficient on the student Universal Screener and the RTI process Attend trainings and return to share information with teachers and administrators Act as a resource person to teachers Supports the curriculum development process Be well versed in research pertaining to best instructional strategies Serve on RTI District Committee Serve on individual school Student Support Committees Assist the Elementary and Middle/High School Supervisors in disseminating information into the schools Monitor intervention programs by observing and meeting with teacher
Capacity and Ability Requirements:
The usual job demands require the following physical requirements: some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some stooping, kneeling, and physical dexterity.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
