07/01/2026 SUMMARY Provides equity focused, racially conscious instructional leadership and support to the school principals and instructional leaders as they develop and advance curriculum and instructional services in the schools, through program evaluation and curriculum development focused on improved academic outcomes for all 6-12 students.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Possesses the desire, knowledge, and ability to collaboratively lead district transformation at the secondary level. Develops and maintains professional working relationships with staff, families, administrators, Board members, and the public to promote student learning. Works closely and collaboratively with other district-level directors to accomplish strategic goals. Leads the initiative to implement instructional best practice, delivery systems, and formative assessments that maximize student growth. Provides coordination and direction for the curriculum steering committees. Conducts on-going evaluation of instructional models and materials, based upon student performance data. Prioritizes the selection of culturally relevant materials and instructional models. Identifies, selects and oversees implementation of specific curriculum models and materials. Identifies and provides leadership on systems of continuous improvement based on data and progress monitoring. Manages curriculum budgets related to 6-12 resources, programs and services. Evaluates secondary level principals as assigned. Engages and leads staff in employing a multi-leveled system of support and problem-solving model at the district, building, classroom, and individual student levels. Provides leadership for the learning of all students; specifically supervises AVID Program, Advanced Learner Program (K-12), EL Program (K-12), Secondary Instructional Coaches, and School-to-Work Coordinator. Other duties as assigned.

As assigned in accordance with the district's polices and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or a related field and licensure or ability to obtain DPI licensure in an administrative category. Some training in and/or experience with closing the opportunity gap, racially conscious leadership, quality improvement methodology and experience with continuous improvement with schools. Preference given to candidates with teaching experience at the secondary level and previous district level administrative experience.
COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, both verbal and written as demonstrated by the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all stakeholder groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work effectively with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals or plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to provide proactive leadership and positively motivate others toward change. Ability to create and lead effective professional development facilitating groups with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Ability to use technology to accomplish job responsibilities that may include basic knowledge of e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
ANALYTICAL AND REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical and diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
Must possess and maintain or be eligible to obtain a Director of Instruction License from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
