Primary Purpose:
Work with the Director to coordinate and administrate the various programs of the school within the framework of the philosophy, goals, and policy established by the Board, within the status and standards of regulatory agencies, and in accordance with administrative regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Director with overall program planning, supervision, and evaluation for the assigned site. Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects for which he/she is responsible and punctually submit accurate reports as may be required by law, District policy, or administrative regulation. Interact effectively with students to promote positive attitudes toward the school programs. Assist faculty and staff in identifying, defining, and solving instructional related problems. Utilize the instructional staff and support services (intra-district and inter-district) to maintain and improve the instructional program. Facilitate teacher implementation of concepts and content in all instructional areas. Facilitate staff implementation of procedures and processes that impact and modify student behavior. Facilitate staff development including in-service activities, workshops, and support materials. Assist with the facilitation of the Staffing and ARD process for students transitioning to and from programs located at Merchants Way. Implement a discipline management system that produces a productive campus environment. Assist faculty and staff in maintaining a learning environment (curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular) that enhances the academic, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Create and maintain a positive climate for the campus staff. Exhibit and encourage high professional and ethical standards. Support, communicate, and interpret District goals, policies, procedures, and directives to the staff under his/her direction and supervise their implementation. Demonstrate professional interactions and support for cooperatively reached decisions. Maintain poise appropriate to situations. Professionally communicate and interpret school goals, Board polices, administrative procedures, the TEA regulations to the various publics. Maintain a positive image of the school by involving community members and agencies in a supportive role and by attending school functions.

Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Occasional districtwide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
