Teaching and Learning Leader - Assessment, Innovation, and Specialized Instruction
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate with at least five years of successful teaching experience. Master's Degree or higher Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community Evidence of teacher leadership

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Job Summary The Assessment, Innovation, and Specialized Instruction Lead provides districtwide leadership for assessment systems, data-informed instruction, and specialized learning programs. This role ensures coherence across state, district, and early childhood assessments while advancing instructional quality in specialized content areas, including technology, library media, computer science, fine arts, physical education, gifted and talented programming, and transition readiness. The position works collaboratively with principals, teachers, and district leaders to translate data into meaningful instructional action that supports student growth, engagement, readiness, and postsecondary success. Primary Responsibilities District Assessment Leadership Lead and coordinate all district assessment systems, including: State and national assessments Early childhood and kindergarten readiness assessments Transition readiness and district-developed assessments Ensure fidelity, equity, and compliance in assessment administration (Preschool-Grade 12) Align assessments with: District standards Instructional priorities Accountability expectations Readiness indicators Collaborate with early childhood partners to support assessment practices Data Analysis and Instructional Improvement Analyze assessment, transition, and program data to identify: Trends Strengths Gaps Opportunities for improvement Develop clear and accessible data reports and tools Lead data cycles and continuous improvement processes Connect data outcomes to district wide initiatives Leadership and Professional Learning Participate in district leadership meetings and principal PLCs Present data and facilitate collaborative dialogue Support instructional problem-solving Partner with principals and teachers to: Model effective data use Support instructional response and progress monitoring Design and facilitate professional learning on: Assessment literacy Data-informed instruction Transition readiness Instructional innovation Specialized Instructional Leadership Provide leadership for specialized subject areas: Instructional technology Library media Computer science Fine arts and music Physical education and health

Curriculum alignment Instructional rigor Appropriate assessment practices Ensure integration into district instructional expectations and whole-child priorities Instructional Technology and Learning Systems Serve as an instructional lead for technology-enabled learning systems Support implementation of: Digital assessment platforms Instructional tools Data systems Collaborate to ensure technology supports: Teaching and learning Assessment delivery Accessibility Data use Promote digital literacy and responsible technology use Gifted and Talented Coordinator Lead gifted and talented programming, including: Ensure equitable access across schools and student groups Collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen advanced learning opportunities Transition Defense Oversight Oversee district Transition Defense systems and processes Ensure alignment with: Instructional pathways Postsecondary readiness expectations District goals Coordinate use of assessment and portfolio data for: Student reflection Goal setting Demonstration of readiness skills Collaborate to strengthen quality and consistency across schools
