POSITION SUMMARY
The Musical Theatre Acting Instructor is responsible for providing engaging, age-appropriate training in acting techniques, character development, script analysis, improvisation, and stage performance. The instructor creates a supportive and professional learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and artistic growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach acting techniques specifically tailored to musical theatre performance. Guide students in character development, scene study, and script analysis. Lead improvisation and ensemble-building exercises. Prepare students for performances, showcases, auditions, and productions. Foster confidence, collaboration, and professional rehearsal habits. Provide constructive feedback and individualized coaching. Collaborate with voice and dance faculty to support integrated musical theatre training. Maintain attendance, lesson plans, and student progress records.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or professional training in Theatre, Acting, Musical Theatre, or related field preferred. Professional performance and/or teaching experience. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Experience working with middle and high school students preferred. Passion for mentoring young performers. The ideal candidate will have flexible availability. Our students are primarily onsite Monday through Friday after 3 pm and on Saturdays.
