Essential Elements:
Brief Description:
Teaches, as part of a middle school teaching assignment, one or more classes in a given subject area in grades 6 - 8, and assists in other school programs as assigned.
Major Duties & Responsibilites:
Teaches skills, knowledge, concepts and attitudes in the subject area, utilizing approved courses of studies and other appropriate learning activities; develops instructional plans to organize class activities to provide maximum learning opportunities throughout the time-span of a course; develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small-group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student; evaluates students' academic growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports; communicates with parents and school counselors on the progress of individual students toward meeting the established standards of achievement for a given grade level.
Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a valid and appropriate Teaching Credential with an Theatre Art or Drama authorization as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is preferred.
Candidates in the process of completing their credential program are encouraged to apply and indicate within their supporting documents when they anticipate program completion. This includes candidates enrolled in their university's internship program. Candidates with out-of-state credentials will be considered.
