SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW
Mapleton Public Schools is proud to offer a robust and award-winning Performing Arts program to all registered Mapleton students in grades 5-12. These programs include band, choir, and orchestra, with grades 7-12 participating in our Zero Hour program at either our Skyview Campus or the Mapleton Arts Center (MAC) on the Global Campus. Fifth and sixth grade students are offered band, choir and orchestra as beginning classes in all of our K-6 and K-8 schools during the normal school day. In addition, extra-curricular after-school opportunities include Drama, Color Guard, Mariachi, Marching Band and Jazz Band. These programs emphasize the art of live performance. QUALIFICATIONS
Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Music endorsement required. Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, •or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. •

Experience teaching beginning choir students Experience teaching high school choir Experience teaching diverse learners
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS
Provide engaging beginning choir instruction to 5th & 6th grade students at 4 elementary school campuses. Provide engaging instruction to high school choir students at zero hour (before school class). The desire to grow a choir program in which our students and community could be proud. The ability to develop strong relationships with students . The ability to recruit students to participate and continue involvement in the choir program. Provide engaging student performances during the school year. Model effective strategies for supporting positive student behavior. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Willingness and ability to collaborate with colleagues to carry out the mission of the performing arts department. Maintains professional communication and interactions with students, parent community, and staff. Utilize effective practices for community building, including rituals and traditions that build a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment. Maintain a running inventory of music, uniforms, and equipment. Maintain uniforms and schedule cleaning on a regular basis. Attend and take full advantage of professional development opportunities offered. Model, instill and actively participate in building a supportive and positive culture in the performing arts department. Perseverance in the face of challenges. Work with a growth mindset. Perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of national, state, and local music arts standards.
TRAINING
Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools. You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
