The role focuses on building healthy vocal technique, repertoire development, performance preparation, and age-appropriate vocal pedagogy while supporting the broader goals of the performing arts program. This is a seasonal role that does not offer employer-sponsored benefits.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Performing Arts Department, as assigned, in all tasks and school events related to vocal instruction, including but not limited to: private voice lessons for upper school students; preparation for performances, auditions, and assessments; and support of vocal music within theater and performing arts productions. Provide individualized voice instruction tailored to each student's developmental level, technical needs, and performance goals. Teach healthy vocal technique, including breath support, tone production, diction, posture, and musicianship. Guide students in repertoire selection and preparation appropriate to age, skill level, and performance context. Support students preparing for school performances, juries, auditions, and other performing arts presentations. Maintain communication with performing arts faculty regarding student progress and instructional goals. Demonstrate collegial interaction with students, faculty, parents, and guest artists in support of school-sponsored performing arts activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance, Music Education, Vocal Pedagogy, or related field preferred. Advanced students currently pursuing a degree in vocal performance or a related field will also be considered. Experience teaching private voice lessons to middle and/or upper school students preferred. Strong knowledge of vocal technique, healthy pedagogy, and age-appropriate repertoire. Ability to accompany students or basic piano proficiency preferred.
