Exempt Description Position to start August 2026 Transcripts must be uploaded Moving expenses are not provided for this position. The primary function of this position is to instruct Theatre courses as well as advising students. Examples of Duties Prepare course materials for a variety of associate level theatre courses including but not limited to Acting I, Script Analysis, Musical Theatre, and Understanding Theatre. Instruct a minimum of 15 credit hours/18 contact hours of associate level theatre courses per semester in various formats Direct at least one production each semester (3 cr. hr. course reduction will be applied for directing). The spring production is a musical. Assess student performance in a variety of modalities Communicate feedback to students regarding their performance Maintain scheduled office hours to provide assistance and advising to students Submit grades and provide required documentation at end of each semester Participate in professional development opportunities Serve as a member of campus committees Advise the Gulf Coast Players student club Participate in scheduling of courses and selection of instructional resources Recruit students and be active in the local arts community Engage in frequent and reliable verbal and written communication with campus personnel Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES
The holder of this position may also assign, schedule, and monitor the work of others, and may provide guidance and assistance to fellow faculty and staff, but is not a direct supervisor. Qualifications A master's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university, with at least 18 credit hours in graduate level theatre coursework is required MFA in Acting or Musical Theatre preferred. Minimum of three years of theatre instruction in higher education preferred. Position does require a background check and E' verification. Supplemental Information

The employee handles unusual situations independently with guidance from supervisors. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
