Requirements Improvisational and classical drama training A degree in theater arts and or theater education or a vast experience in teaching drama. An ability to build connections with students, parents and other teaching team members Experienced and confident leading and engaging a classroom Believes in our values and teaching philosophies and the importance of creating a vibrant, safe culture that creates a thriving environment. You delight in seeing your young students flourish Experienced following a syllabus and planning for the progressive learning of each class A desire for personal growth and learning and furthering your continued professional development Year-long teaching commitment Reliable, professional and accountable Confident with online systems for general administrative tasks Brief Description of Position This position is for a variety of drama classes during weekday evenings Monday - Thursday. Classes may include Drama classes (based on Viola Spolin's Improvisation for Theater) for children ages 5-18 at various levels, Shakespeare and Suzuki Method Acting Technique; with summer camp opportunities during the month of June. We also offer dance and music classes. SAA is also affiliated with a non-profit organization, Suwanee Performing Arts with additional opportunities for directing or assisting with various Theatrical productions throughout the year.
