Job Description
Teach continuing education theatre courses that foster creativity, self-expression, and artistic growth while actively engaging the broader community. Design and deliver dynamic, performance-based instruction that builds confidence, collaboration, and appreciation for the arts. Support students through hands-on learning opportunities, including community-based projects and apprenticeship-style experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world practice. Teach continuing education theatre courses as assigned by the CE Coordinator. Evaluate and document student participation and progress in accordance with college and CE division policies. Promote, develop, and deliver quality programming with the intent to engage and retain students. Demonstrate IWCC's core mission, vision, and values. Maintain accurate course rosters and submit required reports by established deadlines. Complete required professional development and trainings. Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor with all members of the college and community, contributing to a productive and growth-oriented work environment. Promote, model, and enforce academic integrity. Be available to answer student questions outside of class time (via phone, web conferencing, or email). Help students achieve their educational and personal development goals. Refer students to college resources as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable college policies and regulations. Adhere to safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience in theatre, performance, or a closely related discipline may substitute for formal education. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, and community members. Strong organizational skills including the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively. Excellent customer service skills. Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Enthusiastic and dedicated to helping others learn and grow. Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team. Professional in communication, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness. Positive attitude. Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision. Ability to pass a background check. The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment Ability to lift up to 10lbs While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
