Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a full-time Drama Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their creativity and develop their performance skills through a comprehensive drama curriculum. This role involves teaching students of various ages and skill levels, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that promotes artistic expression and collaboration. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities. Teach various aspects of drama, including acting techniques, improvisation, script analysis, and stage production. Organize and direct school productions, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances. Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills. Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate drama into the broader curriculum. Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity. Organize workshops and guest speaker events to expose students to various aspects of the performing arts. Maintain communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming events. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and community outreach programs. Stay current with trends in theatre and education to continuously enhance the drama program. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Drama Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience teaching drama or performing arts to students of varying ages. Strong knowledge of theatrical techniques, performance styles, and stage production. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and executing productions. A passion for the arts and a commitment to fostering creativity in students. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. Previous experience directing plays or musicals is highly desirable. Certification in education or teaching credentials is preferred. Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
