Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Boston Symphony Orchestra seeks a collaborative and inspiring Visual Arts Instructor with expertise in teaching visual arts and graphic design. The instructor will design and lead creative learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, and artistic growth in students grades 6-8 while contributing to a vibrant interdisciplinary facultymunity.
PROGRAM DATES
Session 1: July 20-24 Session 2: July 27-31 Program hours: 8:30 AM-3:30 PM including Wednesday field trips Orientation on
Zoom :
June 11 (virtual)
Professional Development:
July 17 (Tanglewood)
COMPENSATION
Approximately $50-54/hour (final FY26 rateparable) Includes 10 hours of preparation time plus all program hours and training
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design lesson plans from the provided DARTS arts-based curriculum
  • Teach classes for groups of up to 15 students in your arts discipline/major
  • Lead workshops, opening, and closing sessions for up to 40 students
  • Collaborate with faculty across artistic disciplines
  • Support visiting artist workshops and performances
  • Participate in planning meetings and program reflection sessions
