We offer competitive salary and benefits based upon education and years of professional experience. The Elementary Theater Teacher at The Capitol Encore Academy is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, standards-aligned theater instruction to students in grades K-7. This role fosters creativity, confidence, collaboration, and performance skills while supporting the school's arts-integrated mission. The teacher will create a dynamic learning environment that encourages student expression through acting, movement, voice, and stagecraft.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality theater instruction for students in grades K-7 Develop lessons that incorporate acting techniques, improvisation, storytelling, movement, and basic stage production Integrate theater arts with core academic subjects where appropriate Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners Prepare students for performances, showcases, and school productions Direct and produce grade-level or school-wide performances throughout the year Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that builds student confidence and collaboration Assess student progress and provide feedback aligned with school expectations Collaborate with classroom teachers, arts staff, and administration to support school initiatives Maintain organization of costumes, props, and theater materials Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and performance opportunities Support school events, programs, and the overall arts mission of the academyJob Types:
