Job Description

The University of South Carolina School of Music is accepting applications for a Professional-Track, Instructor of Music History andMusic Theatre, beginning August 16, 2026. This is a 9-month, non-tenure-track position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching dutieswill primarily include course in the Music History progressions, as well as specialty courses in Film Music, Music Theatre, and Opera.

Additional collaborations are expected in vocal coaching and/or collaborative piano. Participation in student recruitment and other facultyactivities is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Musicology. A minimum of two years teaching experience at the undergraduatelevel is preferred. Teaching and/or research in Film Music and Scoring, American Music, and special topics in Opera and Music Theatrepreferred.
