Job Description
The University of South Carolina School of Music is accepting applications for a Professional-Track, Instructor, beginning August 16, 2026. This is a 9-month, non-tenure-track position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching duties will primarily include course in the Music History progressions, as well as specialty courses in Film Music, Music Theatre, and Opera. Additional collaborations are expected in vocal coaching and/or collaborative piano. Participation in student recruitment and other faculty activities is expected.QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Musicology. A minimum of two years teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. Teaching and/or research in Film Music and Scoring, American Music, and special topics in Opera and Music Theatre preferred.GENERAL INFORMATION
