If so, we've got the job for you - Performing Arts + Autism! nonPareil is looking for a passionate and creative Performing Arts Instructor to support the development of our Performing Arts Program specializing in: Voice Acting Improvisation Theatre Arts Stage & Screen Performance Playwriting & Storytelling Performance Collaboration & Creativity This role provides the opportunity to teach and mentor autistic adults while helping them develop communication, creativity, confidence, collaboration, and professional readiness skills through performing arts instruction. The Performing Arts Instructor will guide students through engaging classes, collaborative projects, performances, rehearsals, and creative exploration while fostering an encouraging and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities:
Teach performing arts classes in both group and individual settings Facilitate instruction in voice acting, improv, theatre, and related performing arts subjects Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, communication, and self-expression Help students develop acting, vocal, improvisation, storytelling, and stage performance skills Mentor and advise students toward their personal and professional goals Assist students in preparing performances, scenes, recordings, and creative projects Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment Collaborate with instructors and staff to support interdisciplinary projects and performances Help students practice professional etiquette, collaboration, adaptability, and constructive feedback Participate in curriculum development and ongoing program growth Support production planning, rehearsals, showcases, and special events when applicable
Ideal Experience:
We are seeking candidates with experience in one or more of the following: Voice Acting Theatre Arts Improvisation Acting for Stage or Screen Performance Coaching Public Speaking Script Analysis or Playwriting Audio Recording or Production (a plus) Directing or Theatre Production (a plus) Working with neurodiverse individuals (a plus)
Qualifications:
Passion for teaching and mentoring others Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment Creativity, adaptability, patience, and collaboration skills Experience in performing arts instruction, performance, or production Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience working with autistic adults or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
