Job Overview Join our vibrant community as an Afterschool Theatre Instructor, where your passion for the arts and dedication to youth development will ignite creativity and confidence in young learners. In this dynamic role, you will design engaging theatre activities, guide students through performances, and foster a supportive environment that nurtures self-expression and teamwork. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire children to explore their theatrical talents while developing important social and emotional skills. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate theatre curricula that incorporate acting, improvisation, stage presence, and storytelling techniques Lead engaging afterschool theatre classes, encouraging participation and fostering a positive learning environment Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure safety and respectful collaboration among students Incorporate various artistic elements such as dance, singing, or costume design to enrich theatrical experiences Skills Strong background in theatre arts, including acting, directing, or stage management Experience in curriculum development tailored for children and early childhood education settings Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of students Knowledge of teaching methods for working with children of various ages and developmental stages Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate arts like dance (ballet), singing, or improvisation Familiarity with child development principles and behavior management strategies Experience working with special education needs or early childhood education is desirable Passion for fostering creativity through theater while promoting teamwork and self-confidence This position would be once/week afterschool theatre class. Typically the class runs from 4:00-5:00pm. We pay for 1.5 hours for each class! The classes run in sessions (fall, winter, spring) and each session is usually about 8 weeks long.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
