- Performs frequent, accurate, calibrated evaluation of teacher performance, which may include identification of professional development required for a teacher's growth and development
- Provides practitioner feedback on teacher performance through conferences with individual teachers; works directly with school leaders, teacher leader program managers, and other team leads on calibration and feedback; acts as a broker of supports for the teacher on a performance improvement plan; and is willing to make decisions about the retention or dismissal of teachers and testify as a witness in teacher dismissal hearings • Ensures practitioner inter-rater reliability in the use of District Framework for Effective Teaching • Supports implementation of observation rubrics, standards around student data outcomes, and other elements of the teacher performance assessment tool • Works in collaboration with Teacher Leader Program Managers to provide additional calibration support to Differentiated Roles Team Leads • Provides extra support to novice teachers • May conduct co-observations with school-based observer teams • May support and provide a practitioner voice in the evaluation and growth of teachers and roll out of Leading Effective Academic Practice (LEAP) • Collaborates with Principals and Department of Teaching & Learning to ensure connection between teacher performance and professional development
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred. Three plus (3+) years successful teaching experience in an urban setting, including experience increasing student achievement; Five (5) plus years successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred Successful experience in supporting and developing practice of other teachers Experience in planning, presenting, and facilitating professional development to both teachers and principals Current Colorado Department of Education Teachers License; Must complete ELA professional development within two (2) years of being in the Peer Observer position. Must attend an additional 5 days of summer professional development Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
