SPLAT Bus Driver / Instructor SPLAT by The Color Express Orlando, FL Job Details Part-time $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications Multilingual Passenger Endorsement Child behavior management English CDL Bus servicing Working with children Basic vehicle troubleshooting Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Position Overview SPLAT Express is seeking experienced, reliable individuals to provide school bus driving and event facilitation services as independent contractors (1099) on a per-event, part-time basis. This is not a W-2 employment position—no benefits, payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation, or employment relationship is offered. Contractors invoice for services rendered and are fully responsible for their own taxes, insurance, vehicle maintenance (if applicable), and business expenses. Scope of Services As a contracted School Bus Driver, you will: Safely transport guests to and from event locations using provided or personally arranged transportation Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival and departure Ensure passenger safety during transit Assist guests with boarding, exiting, and any mobility needs Keep the bus interior clean and presentable before and after events Comply with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety standards Replenish paint supplies as needed during events Help guests gear up for splat painting activities Play a short introductory video Take event photos for client delivery Create a fun, safe, and memorable experience for all participants Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate passenger endorsement Clean driving record and ability to pass background screening (if required by venues) Knowledge of basic behavior management techniques (especially with children and groups) Mechanical knowledge sufficient to identify and report minor bus issues Strong communication skills in English (multilingual abilities a plus) Reliable transportation to event locations (if using personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement may be negotiated) Availability for after-school, evening, and weekend events Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation & Contracting Details Rate :
Competitive per-event or hourly rate (to be discussed based on experience and event size) 1099 Independent Contractor status - You will receive a 1099-NEC at year-end for tax reporting. No benefits, paid time off, health insurance, vehicle insurance contribution, or employment taxes are provided. You are responsible for your own federal/state/self-employment taxes, liability insurance, commercial auto insurance (if applicable), and all business-related expenses. Invoicing occurs after each completed event (net-15 payment terms). Flexible scheduling - accept only the events that fit your availability.
