We don't do daycare or offer an after school program. We do martial arts, and we take it seriously. Since 2006, we've been building something bigger, rooted in discipline, resilience, and character. Our foundation is in Kukkiwon Taekwondo, the global standard for Taekwondo excellence, but we also integrate kickboxing and jiu-jitsu fundamentals for practical self-defense. glorify God, reflect Christ, and help every student become who they were created to be. Position Summary We're looking for a Head Instructor. Not just a class manager. A builder, a driver. Someone decisive, disciplined, and confident. A person who thrives when responsibility is heavy and who takes pride in doing things right. This role is part coach, part mentor, part leader. You'll set the tone for classes, guide junior staff, sharpen the details others overlook, and have the chance to make a real difference. Responsibilities Teach martial arts classes for kids ages 3-adults, with energy, structure, and precision Lead with Kukkiwon Taekwondo curriculum as the foundation, integrating kickboxing and jiu-jitsu basics for real-world application Set the culture of the classroom, firm, respectful, and motivating Mentor assistants and junior instructors so they grow into leaders Keep training sharp and consistent; details matter here Communicate with parents clearly and confidently Drive engagement and retention so kids stick with the program Uphold Ko Martial Arts' standards of excellence in curriculum, discipline, and presentation Support outreach and events that help the school grow Take ownership of the overall student and family experience You Might Be the Right Fit If… You're a Black Belt in Taekwondo ( required ) You have experience teaching kids and you actually enjoy it You're confident, assertive, and highly disciplined You pay close attention to details, whether in technique or class management You thrive on responsibility, not just routine You want to help build something meaningful and be rewarded for the impact you make The idea of long-term equity or studio ownership motivates you Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and results Performance bonuses tied to growth and retention Opportunity for equity or ownership based on performance Health insurance Ongoing leadership and professional development Work with a mission-driven, high-performing team Flexible schedule with long-term growth potential Relocation assistance for qualified candidates Why Johnson County, Kansas?
