This energetic position involves operating specialized vehicles designed to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges, seniors, children, and other community members who need accessible transit options. Your enthusiasm and commitment to excellent customer service will help ensure passengers reach their destinations comfortably and on time. Responsibilities Safely operate paratransit vehicles, including buses and specialized transport vans, following all traffic laws and safety protocols Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and courteously with passengers, including those with special needs or language barriers Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and vehicle inspections; complete logs and reports daily Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical reliability and cleanliness; report any maintenance issues promptly Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques to promote a respectful environment onboard Coordinate with dispatchers and supervisors to optimize routes and schedules for efficiency and punctuality Experience Previous experience driving buses or commercial vehicles; experience with paratransit or school bus driving is highly valued Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals requiring special assistance demonstrates your ability to handle sensitive situations with care Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to manage behavior effectively in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and passenger transport Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and reliability CDL Class C with P endorsement required Embark on a rewarding career that combines your passion for driving with your desire to serve the community.
