Job Description

As a Workforce Development CDL Instructor, responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; student recruitment, advisement, and retention; developing and evaluating courses, programs, and services; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. Teaches assigned courses to meet program needs, including day and evening. Responsible for the classroom portion of
CDL A & B.
Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy. Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback. Responsible for range or road instruction of students. Integrates classroom and driving (range and road) practice into learning experiences which enable students to acquire and demonstrate prescribed competencies. Assists in management of resources such as equipment and budget. Advises students in academic and employment planning. Assists in student recruitment and retention including College-wide marketing initiatives. Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College. A bachelor's degree and related instructional experience. Combined education and experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree. Current class A CDL, and South Carolina DMV Instructor License; plus a minimum of three years experience as a licensed tractor-truck driver, driver trainer, and an excellent driving record. Evening, weekend, and overnight travel will be required.
