In this role, you will be responsible for educating and training new drivers in safe and efficient driving practices, ensuring they meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of truck driving, including experience with tractor-trailer and tanker operations, and have a passion for teaching and mentoring others. Responsibilities Conduct driver facing training in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings by establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities. Present information utilizing a variety of instructional techniques or formats, i.e., role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and videos while utilizing relevant technology to support instruction. Provide in-person instruction daily to students in the following areas: full pre/post-trip inspections, basic control skills (curves, turning, backing, urban/rural sections, expressways, bridge underpasses, intersections, emergency protocols, handling adverse weather conditions, altering driving habits with heavier weight loads, passing, signaling, shifting, and driving on upgrades and downgrades), coupling and uncoupling trailers, logbook management, and over-the-road driving. Maintain accurate records of attendance, class completions, evaluations, and coaching sessions in the appropriate systems. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and communicate necessary information regularly to students and CDS leadership concerning such progress. Perform safety-related functions including, but not limited to, accident reviews and skills and behavior assessments. Model safe behaviors and professional interactions with all students, and ensure all students are operating equipment safely and within company policy and expectations. Obtain and organize procedure manuals, guides, or course materials such as handouts or visual materials. May be asked to perform other duties that align with the mission of the company and are within the provider's scope of practice and competence. Skills and competencies Technical skills

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to train, coach, and evaluate knowledge and skills. Ability to learn and use technology as needed, but are not limited to learning management tools/methodologies, classroom related equipment, phones, etc. Strong presentation, classroom instruction, and facilitation skills that facilitate active learning experiences. Ability to maintain an appropriate professional presence. Three (3) years of practical trucking related experience that demonstrates instructional competency. Class-A and/or B CDL w/passenger endorsement, and active medical certification required. No restrictions. Demonstrate empathy with students, making a positive impact in their lives. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving, and all federal and state traffic laws and regulations covering tractor-trailer interstate operations. Must meet the minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers in accordance with all requirements of the applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including, but not limited to, meeting the physical and driver qualification standards of Part 391, as well as to pass a DOT drug/alcohol screen. Communicates professionally with all CDS employees and students, modeling our company mission and values, and corporate competencies consistently. Skilled in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workloads and meeting deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to work effectively with team members and maintain an exemplary ethical presence and confidentiality while in contact with CDS employees and the public. Maintain flexibility to manage shifting priorities and take action to redirect activities appropriately, function independently, and exercise sound judgment within scope of position responsibilities. Maintain a safe work environment; report any potential hazards (safety/EPA) to Site Operations Manager.
