293395137 Job Description Licensed Driving Instructor Our company is seeking a state of Washington Licensed Driving Instructor to train and assess our students in driving skills and the rules of the road. Primary responsibilities include both classroom instruction and behind the wheel training of teenage students. The instructor must have the skill to utilize a PowerPoint presentation and follow a prescribed lesson plan. They must also have the technical ability to teach this simultaneously to students online. Tasks include performance monitoring of students, proctoring and grading quizzes and secure test administration. Training students in the behind the wheel portion of the instruction always requires patience and situational awareness. The instructor is responsible for the safety of the student and the safe operation of the vehicle. They must also be able to identify potential issues with the training vehicle's operation and act accordingly. As a driving instructor, we expect you to provide high-quality customer service both in-class and on the road. Communication skills are vital for conveying instructions to students in a positive, supportive manner. Train, assess and assist our students in all aspects of driving. Ultimately, your main goal is to build self-confidence in all of our students by helping them become responsible drivers.

Compensation:

$27•29/hr

DOE Responsibilities:

Educate students through a lesson plan of the relevant points in a clear and concise manner to improve driving skills including traffic laws, safety and vehicle operation. Communicate with students to foster a positive learning environment. Guide students through behind the wheel training sessions. Prepare students to complete the theory test•familiarize them with the format, types of questions and expected passing score. Present and complete a lesson plan that is safely designed to prepare students for their practical driving test. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students to encourage positive progress. Efficiently organize any paperwork related to lessons and tests. Maintain student records on visual demonstration of ability for future reference•for example, punctuality, minutia control and speed. Required qualifications Must pass criminal background check Must have current and valid Driver Training Instructor License Must be over 21 and be a Licensed driver for five years or more per licensing requirements for the state of Washington.

Fewer than two tickets in rolling two-year period No drug or alcohol-related traffic violation or incident within the preceding three years. If there are two or more drug or alcohol-related traffic violations in the applicant's driving history, the applicant is no longer eligible to be a driving instructor No driver's license suspensions, cancellation, revocation, or denial within the preceding two years, or no more than two of these occurrences in the preceding five years Must provide five-year driving abstract High School diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications Examiner Certification People person with experience working with young people Able to work unsupervised Reliable and punctual Able to operate a laptop and proficient in excel, Teams and PowerPoint.•Potential Training • The right candidate that has the skills and experience and is not licensed may qualify to attend our training course in July 2026. The instructor course is 100 hours.
