Job Summary:

PurdueUniversity Global offers term by term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree programs. This position offers an excellentopportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty contribute to and engage in instructionalbest practice for adult learners in an innovative, nontraditional university setting. Adjunct faculty have part-time teachingroles. Courses are offered on a term by term basis. Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per term, not to exceed 10 courses peryear. This role participates in continuing professional development and may also engage in faculty governance and curriculum work asneeded. Additional service activities may be assigned to Adjunct faculty. Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments forAdjunct faculty may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and fosteran inclusive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success.

What to expect in thisrole:

Provides a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain success. Teaches synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10 week units) as assigned by the School or program. Maintainsschool-determined virtual office hours per week for each class. Ensures timely management and response to electroniccorrespondence from students, administrators, and other University officials. Leads message board discussion and engagesstudents in relevant discussions and coursework. Partners with Academic Advisors to address student concerns. Refer studentswho self-identify with a potential need for an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to Student AccessibilityServices (SAS), and comply with all student accommodations communicated by SAS in writing. Maintains and submits accurate andtimely reports for student grades/progress. Delivers mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar. Enforces student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog. Attends University, departmental,and faculty meetings as requested. Remains current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable tothe program. Additional duties as assigned by theSchool.

Experience:

Master's degree in Economics or Business/related field with 18 graduate credit hours in a combination of Economics, Finance, and Quantitative courses. Two to four years related experienceand/or training (online teaching experience is a plus). What we're looking for: Demonstratedproficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat andMeet. Experience with Brightspace learning management system (LMS) is preferred. Ability to handle sensitiveand confidential information with discretion. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balance competingdemands for time, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Effective analytical skills with the ability to assesssituations, resolve issues or make recommendations as appropriate. Effective oral and written communication skills, with theability to adapt communication style and method to suit different audiences. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability toeffectively communicate with a professional demeanor with people at all levels within the organization.

School of Business :

Adjunct compensation varies per course based on studentenrollment, program type and also includes a contribution to a retirement account. A typical adjunct in the School of Business canexpect to receive $2600 per full 10-week course. Retirement account benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3%and a company match up to an additional 4% with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
