Job Description
The part-time Economics faculty is an instructional position directly responsible to the Dean, Fort Hood Campus. The instructor's duties and responsibilities are teaching students and performing a variety of administrative duties. Adjunct (part-time), semester-based employment with compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule Master's Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level, accredited institution of higher education, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in
ECONOMICS
related to the coursework to be taught is required. One year teaching experience in the appropriate field is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter through education, experience, and skills. Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways. Knowledge of academic integrity standards and college-level expectations Commitment to equity, access, and student success. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Experience using educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard). Teach courses according to syllabi and textbooks as approved by the department. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies; submit certification rolls require by the Central Texas College Registrar office by submission due date. Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) for course delivery and communication. Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, progress, and resources. Advise students and assist them in obtaining their educational goals. Adhere to assigned class time schedule. Advise Fort Hood Office of needed supplies, books, equipment, and printing within 72 hours of needed time. Provide statistical information to office as requested. Keep supervisor informed of any student needs and problems. Attend Faculty In-service each term.
