Prior teaching or facilitation experience in higher education, professional learning, community-based, or interdisciplinary settings. Experience leading or supporting grant-funded, partnership-based, or mission-driven initiatives. Experience working across educational systems, community organizations, or workforce development contexts. Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive practices. Experience integrating emerging technologies, applied learning, or workforce readiness approaches into educational environments. Salary and Benefit Information Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are for one semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Teaching undergraduate, graduate, credential, or professional learning courses Supporting interdisciplinary and community-engaged learning experiences Facilitating initiatives connected to emerging technologies, innovation, and applied learning Developing curriculum, workshops, seminars, or co-curricular programming Supporting educator preparation and workforce development initiatives Mentoring students participating in college initiatives and special programs Collaborating with PK-12 schools, districts, community organizations, and external partners Advancing initiatives connected to student success, belonging, innovation, and career readiness Participating in initiative planning, implementation, and assessment activities Holding office hours and fulfilling responsibilities associated with assigned workload Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, hybrid, online, or off-site responsibilities. Required Qualifications A Master's degree in education, educational leadership, ethnic studies, Africana studies, social sciences, humanities, public policy, technology, community development, organizational leadership, or a related interdisciplinary field relevant to the assignment. Demonstrated expertise, professional experience, or community-engaged work connected to the assignment area. Evidence of ability to work effectively with a variety of students, communities, and partners. Commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and applied learning environments.
