Student Services (Thunder Mountain Middle School) Full-Time Position (1.0 FTE)
SUMMARY :
Maintains the district's Special Education/504 Plan Data Management System(s) for all students, to include confidential student education records files. Works with contracted vendor and DEED to ensure data system and all required forms are compliant with State regulation and district policies. Responsible for all Special Education data collection and reporting for the district. Acts as the liaison with contracted transportation agency regarding busing/special transportation services for students with disabilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge of:
District policy manual. Student information systems Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Alaska Special Education Handbook. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 Requirements Standard office protocols Database maintenance using current software (i.e. FileMaker, Alio, Access).
Ability to:
Provide technical leadership in special education documentation and data program. Be the liaison between student information system vendor and district regarding functionality and needs Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Operate a personal computer and current office software. Maintain effective working relationships with other people. Maintain confidential information. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be: High school diploma. Three years experience in data management preferred but may be substituted for mid-level administrative support experience. Associates degree in a computer technology field desired.
Compensation:
This is a full-time 12-month position working 37.5 hours/week with a starting salary of $31.14 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off. This position is represented by the Juneau Education Support Staff (JESS) bargaining agreement. Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
