Commensurate with experience and i3 Academy Salary Schedule Qualifications Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Special Education, or related field from an accredited institution Valid Alabama certification in Educational Administration Experience in student services, special education, or related leadership role preferred Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws governing student services, including IDEA, Section 504, and McKinney-Vento Purpose of Position The Director of Student Services provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of student support programs at i3 Academy, with a primary focus on special education, Section 504, English Learners (EL), and school counseling services. The role ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations while promoting student success, access, and equity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Student Services Leadership Provide strategic leadership for special education, Section 504, EL, and counseling programs Ensure alignment of student services with the school's mission and academic goals Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to student services Special Education Oversight (IDEA Compliance) Serve as the lead administrator for all special education programs Ensure full compliance with IDEA, Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), and federal regulations Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Supervise special education staff and related service providers Monitor timelines for evaluations, eligibility determinations, and IEP reviews Ensure appropriate service delivery, documentation, and progress monitoring Lead responses to audits, monitoring reviews, and due process hearings Coordinate professional development for staff on special education compliance and best practices Section 504 Coordination Serve as the 504 Coordinator for the network Ensure compliance with Section 504 regulations Oversee development and implementation of 504 plans Train staff on accommodations and legal requirements English Learner (EL) Program Oversight Serve as the EL Coordinator Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements for EL students Oversee identification, placement, and monitoring of EL students Support instructional strategies for multilingual learners School Counseling Oversight Provide leadership and supervision for school counseling services Ensure counseling programs support students' academic, social-emotional, and college/career readiness needs Collaborate with counselors to implement comprehensive school counseling plans Monitor compliance with applicable student support and mental health guidelines Student Support Programs Oversee Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) / Positive Support Team (PST) processes Oversee McKinney-Vento compliance (Homeless Liaison responsibilities) Coordinate homebound services as needed Compliance and Reporting Ensure compliance with all ALSDE, federal, and charter authorizer requirements related to assigned programs Prepare and submit required reports related to special education, 504, EL, and counseling services Maintain accurate records for audits and monitoring Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and families to support student success Serve as liaison with external agencies, service providers, and regulatory bodies Support parent communication related to student services and rights Additional Responsibilities Support school-wide initiatives related to student achievement and well-being Participate in leadership team meetings and strategic planning Perform other duties as assigned by the CAO/Superintendent Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with i3 Academy's evaluation policies and leadership expectations.
