Job Goal:
To administer effectively and efficiently the Instructional Program for
Federal Programs Qualifications:
Master's Degree, or higher, with the Alabama State Department of Education At least three (3) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher at the appropriate level Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require Applicant must also produce a current TB skin test
Performance Responsibilities:
Coordinator of Federal Programs. Coordinate arrangements to support the training program for local principals, teachers, and other instructional personnel. Prepare the Federal Programs applications each summer. They include Title I, II, VI-B and vocational education. Supervise program applications for system-wide arrangements. Make program application revisions and execute annual program evaluations and reviews. Represent programs at state meetings. Assist site-based budget preparation at secondary schools. Coordinate state-required school plans for "At-Risk", Capital Outlay, and Technology (Goals 2000), Safe Schools and Site Surveys, and all other accountability plans. Complete updates. Execute reports regarding annual reviews. Serve as contact person for secondary accreditation, monitor standards, complete needed reports, make arrangements for visiting committees, and attend meetings to gather needed information. Distribute and collect membership information. Be responsible for monitoring school and system-wide guidance plans. Coordinate arrangements to support the training program for guidance counselors. Promote guidance activities throughout the system. Give promotional attention to vocational education and other secondary programs. Serve as a consultant to secondary school in guidance. Coordinate curriculum development activities—developing plans; aligning curriculum with SAT, courses of study, state assessments, and updating instructional programs in the various disciplines as needed in secondary education and Federal Programs. As directed, observe educational programs and report to superintendent/principals. Coordinate the student assessment program which included several state required tests given once a year. Provide testing security and analyze test scores that would appear to be helpful to schools. Provide information to parents regarding students seeking correspondence courses, home school, tutoring, etc… Perform other duties as assigned by superintendent: Reconcile General Fund - Federal Programs Bank Statement
Purchasing:
Secure and purchase supplies and equipment as needed and as approved by Superintendent; Report principal complaints to superintendent regarding purchases, etc…
Maintenance:
Report principal complaints to Superintendent regarding repairs, etc… Prepare bid specifications when needed for purchases, monitor mailings and receptions of bid for opening. Physical requirements: Employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Terms of employment:
Twelve-month employee, in accordance with the Board approved salary schedule. Work schedule includes a 40-hour work week, with scheduled days and times up to the supervisor.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Demopolis City Board of Education policy on evaluation of personnel.
