Job Summary:
The Student Assistant provides administrative support to the Office of the President. Greets and assists visitors, students, faculty, and external partners in a professional and courteous manner Answers and directs phone calls, and general inquiries to appropriate staff members Assists with the front desk area, ensuring it remains organized, welcoming, and secure Assists with scheduling, conference room reservations Completes administrative tasks such as filing, copying, data entry, and documentation preparation Assists staff, senior leaders and visitors with requests Receives and distributes mail, packages, and deliveries for the office Monitors office access and communicate concerns to President's office staff Represents the President's Office with professionalism and discretion at all times
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Current University of Alabama undergraduate student.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Available to work between 10-20 hours per week, with emphasis on Mondays and Fridays.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, dependable, organized, and detail oriented. Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in leadership, administration, policy, or public service.
Enrollment Requirements:
Applicants must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment. Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment. Individual hiring departments and programs may also have additional eligibility requirements for employment. ground
