Immediately Job Description Asbell Elementary and Owl Creek Elementary are seeking a qualified and collaborative professional to serve as the Special Education Designee at the building level. This position acts as the primary liaison between the school site and the district's Special Services Department. The designee coordinates special education processes, ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, and provides ongoing support to teachers and related service providers.
Key Responsibilities include:
Coordinate the referral, evaluation, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes for students requiring special education services; Ensure compliance with required timelines, procedures, and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations; Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff regarding special education procedures and due process requirements; Serve as the primary liaison between building staff and the district Special Services Department; Facilitate communication and collaboration among administrators, teachers, therapists, and families; and Assist with monitoring implementation of IEPs and support services within the building. Interested applicants must have Arkansas Special Education Teacher Certification, experience with IEP development and special education compliance and must maintain strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
