This position will develop non-credit work-based experiences including internships, job shadowing, informational interviewing, and other opportunities to gain realworld career preparation, workforce readiness, and essential employer skills. This position will build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners and create opportunities to connect employers with students. This position also develops and delivers career readiness programming including workshops, classroom presentations, and career advisement focused on career exploration, internship and career preparation, and professional skill development. Through program management, employer engagement, and student support services, this position advances student career readiness and industry exposure to better prepare students as qualified candidates in a competitive job market. Essential Functions 30% Internship Development & Employer Engagement Develops, coordinates, and expands internship and work-based experience opportunities for students across academic programs Cultivates relationships with and acts as primary liaison to employers and industry partners Provides case management to students participating in partnership internship programs Assists with the development of internship guidelines, agreements, and processes to ensure compliance with institutional policies and Career Services best practices Supports students in identifying, applying for, and successfully acquiring internships Collaborates with faculty to align internships with academic pathways Coordinates employer engagement events such as internship fairs, employer information sessions, and networking events Facilitates orientation and training for employers hosting partnership work-based experiences and internships Maintains employer communication records and database 30% Exploratory / Undecided Student Program Management Develops and manages programming designed to support students who are undecided or exploring academic majors and career pathways Provides professional level end-to-end Career Advisement to students including tracking and monitoring specific cohorts of students such as undecided or exploratory students Connects students with campus resources and problem solves complex student concerns Provides ongoing, proactive outreach and follow up for progress towards outcomes and retention Markets employment and work-based experiences/internship opportunities to students Develops and delivers career readiness programming including workshops and information sessions focused on career exploration, experiential learning, and professional skill-building 30% Technology & Data Analyzes and maintains program data to assess program effectiveness Conducts research on workforce trends and Career Services best practices Evaluates policy to determine and ensure compliance Maintains virtual career services platforms and tools Maintains Career Services' Internship Canvas Community and Career Services page on Coyote Connect to promote events, jobs, and internships Develops and delivers presentations on program information and outcomes. Participates in department and college meetings and collaborates on college committees and district work groups Leads Career Services workflow and may supervise non-exempt staff. 10% Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. Desired Qualifications 1. Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. 2. Two or more years of experience in Career Services, career advising, coordinating work-based experiences, workforce development, or job recruitment. 3. Experience cultivating partnerships with employers, community organizations, and/or government agencies 4. Experience providing services to students in higher education 5. Experience developing and presenting group presentations, workshops, orientations, conference presentations or other public speaking experience. 6. Experience using computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or similar software), student database management systems (PeopleSoft, Handshake, Simplicity, etc), and learning management systems (Canvas, BBlearn, etc.) 7. Effective written communication skills (as evident by application materials) 8. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.- Experience within other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience.
