Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary USA is an independent, non-classroom based Charter School in Del Norte County California that is nearing its 20th year of operation, and that serves over 300 Tk-9th grade students. USA offers two programs for students- the Offshore homeschool program, and the Onshore program that offers students a more robust on-site experience, where students receive synchronous instruction for up to 80% of their school day with classrooms of their peers, while still allowing for the flexibility of an independent student school. USA has recently been admitted into the El Dorado County Office of Education's Charter SELPA, and is working to create its own Special Education Program for the 2026/27 School Year. The school is hiring several new Special Education professionals to assist in developing, implementing and supporting this program. The Director of Special Education & Student Services will be under the direct supervision of the Principal/Executive Director and will adhere to applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the state, county, and the school governing board. This position organizes, develops, and supervises the prekindergarten through 9th grade special education and 504 programs of the school, manages student services support staff (student health, counseling, etc.) and related vendor relationships (staffing services, disabled student transportation, etc.). The Director is responsible for providing technical assistance to teachers, specialists, and administrators in the appropriate placement of individuals with disabilities and for monitoring the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504's. This position requires flexible, non-traditional work hours and work year calendar. Generally, USA administrators may take the month of July and other school holidays throughout the year off, depending on specific school and program needs.
