Print AmeriCorps Borderlands members provide 1:1 to 1:3 ratio of academic tutoring in English language development and functional academics on a daily basis to 159 underperforming kindergarten through 12 th grade and special education students at 18 service sites countywide. - Fluency in English vocabulary and language
- The ability to serve cooperatively with others and serve independently when needed to do so
- A willingness to serve the diverse populations in Brawley, Calipatria, El Centro, Heber, Imperial, Seeley, and all communities throughout Imperial County providing his/her own transportation
- A willingness to serve on disaster-relief assignments in the event of an emergency.
Requirements / Qualifications
1) Must be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident. 2) Must be 17 years of age or older. (Candidates aged 17 require the Parental Consent for Minor Background Check) 3) Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate. 4) Must be able to serve 8 daytime hours, Monday - Friday, and some evenings and weekends. 5) Must have reliable transportation.- See "Links Related to this Job" to download and print the 26-27 AmeriCorps Application and Flyer.
- Former AmeriCorps members must complete the Continuing Member Form.
