The Department regulates a variety of financial services, products, and professionals. The Department oversees the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, money transmitters, issuers of payment instruments and travelers' checks, and premium finance companies. Additionally, the Department licenses and regulates a variety of financial businesses, including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisors, deferred deposit (commonly known as payday loans) and certain fiduciaries and lenders. The Escrow Law Program within the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) Escrow and Mortgage Lending Office (EMLO) is seeking to hire a student assistant to help the program with various administrative and procedural tasks in which the student will gain valuable insight of DFPI's oversight of financial services providers and protection provided to consumers. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Compensation $18.42-23.01 per hour. Minimum Qualifications Must complete each term with minimum unit requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate student classifications. Proof will be collected at the end of each Spring and Fall term. Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions. Capable of communicating with various levels of staff and general public. Flexibility in schedule. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and possess a good attendance record. Must have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to work at least 16 hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities File management:

Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
